Large quantities do not make up for poor quality. Food: 2/10 Service: 4/10 Menu: FAR too many items on the menu (two whiteboard menus in addition to the table menu) I stopped here for dinner while passing through Southern Oregon on the recommendation of someone at a campground I stayed at. Being from Southern California, I suppose I've been spoiled with quality food, but can I just say that regardless of where you're at, there's just no excuse for poor quality? Giving a lot of bad food does not make the bad food more appealing. Sure, no one wants small portions, but I'm afraid that I would've actually preferred smaller portions so there was less to dispose of afterwards. Of note, the wait time for service on what appeared to be a slow evening (I say slow as I occupied one of two tables in the whole diner) was longer than I would've expected, and the waitress seemed indifferent to my presence even after taking my order. Perhaps the lure here is the breakfasts, as I'm told they are quite good (how hard is it to make a good pancake?), but I can only speak to the dinner.

This place looks like a total hell-hole. Filthy ceiling tiles which look to be on the verge of collapse. All I could think was "we had better eat fast!" The food, however, was good. Dishes are served with excessive portions so expect to feel overly full after a meal here if you are the type that feels the need to clean your plate. The staff was very friendly and even though the food was good... I don't know. They really need to clean up the place and then keep it clean. It's a real turn-off to travelers such as myself to see a place in such disarray. So in conclusion: food=good, staff=friendly, establishment=in shambles.

It's a bit of a drive from Medford but I'll do it anytime I have an excuse to go there. The portions are huge, The selections are endless, creative, unusual for a restaurant of this size hidden away in a small town. It's not on the menu so ask for Country Benedict. Be sure to check the bulletin board for specials. (note Plural) Specials because customers have requested them many times. Breakfast lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed!!!

Great place to eat breakfast or lunch. Delicious food with fair pricing. I usually go for a mini meal because their normal portions are way to much for me unless you want some take home. Casual atmosphere with a small town feel. Just off I-5 exit 40 in Gold Hill.

Moved to Gold Hill a few months ago, finally went to Patti's for breakfast. Outstanding!!! Food was homemade, well cooked, and Huge portions. Service was fast and friendly, even though they were packed. Coffee cup was kept full. Homemade wheat bread and blackberry jam was amazing!!! Me and the wife will be eating here more often.

My husband and I live locally, and we go to PK often. Yes, it's not spotless, but then neither is OUR kitchen, or house. We have never had a bad meal there, the breakfasts are awesome, and so is the French Dip w/Au Jus. We have NEVER had a problem from eating their food, other than being too full!! That's my only complaint, the portions are HUGE, and if you ask for say "1/2 the amount of fries with that", you still get enough to feed a small country. The prices are awesome, and I would pay the same, I just hate to waste food!! (And fries don't heat up so well) We will continue to go there, quite happily!

after spending the past 3 days roughing it in the woods, Patti's Kitchen was a welcome site for our group of 6. Prices were great and the portions were HUGE! We came in for breakfast and there was something for everyone. Chicken fried steak and biscuits the size of basketballs, pancakes just as large and my breakfast enchiladas were more than filling.

We were greeted and had a great convo with the guy that sat us....it all went bad from there. We had refill after refill on our drinks and no food, after over an hour when our baby started getting fussy the waitress finally said it will be a min...then again. Right as we were getting ready to leave they brought the food and said sorry for the wait. People came 50 mins after us got their order at the same time. No explanation during the wait or an offer of toast or crackers for the kids. Bad customer service from our waitress. We will not be returning which stinks because we actually enjoyed the food once we got it.

We passed through after days of camping and were so happy we stopped at patti's. The coffee was good and was served quickly, the small omelette was huge, served with potatoes and toast- and the mini breakfasts perfect for kids. Excellent homemade bread, biscuits. Street parking worked well for our rv. The restaurant is family run and family friendly, we will come back if we go this way again!

Patti's Kitchen moved some time ago to a new location close to the center of town. It is a bit larger but lost its private lot parking and outdoor dining pavilion. The food is still average, or better depending on what you order. It is best for breakfast, has good soups for lunch; haven't tried dinner. The cafe is very popular with local residents. It always scores well on the health inspections.

Hey, the waitress called my hon. Now anywhere they call a just ever so slightly past middle age man "hon," I am going back to. Ok,..so I can be bought by flattery. Others have probably sold themselves for less. I have my price, and the waitress paid in full. So I may be a bit prejudiced by the above. Ok I read some of the reviews below. Come on. This is a smaller, beautiful Oregon town...and this is "their" diner. It is real. We are passerbys, guests. I absolutely loved it. Sure, nobody was chasing after me with a mop, but it was gritty, wholesome, safe and real. the conversations from the pregnant lady at the counter boasting that she was finally having a daughter to grandpas with his granddaughter having breakfast with with all the pride of a king reining over a kingdom. This is a hometown, local kitchen at its apex, a crescendo of down-to-earthiness and reality. If you want to compare it with your local diner that even hopes to capture in theory what this place puts into practice...have at it. Patti's was clean and the restroom emasculate...had to use it twice because of my ice tea consumption so I am and expert. Michiru got ham and eggs, the slice of ham took half the plate, no joke. I had a Ortega burger which I decided to add jalapenos and have it lettuce wrapped which they gladly did. It had a great kick and came with a salad which I had to take to go. I really loved this place, and the characters who played a part in making this a most memorable meal were so cool. We were on our way to Crater Lake, and this was our gate way. The only thing that could top this off was that we need gas and stopped at the gas station next door. The Gold Hill Service Center had a lady in blue jean hot pants pump or gas and clean our windshield. No kidding. God Bless Daisy May.

If you are bored with chain restaurants, this is the place for you. Many original dishes. I had the salsa verde burrito. I was stunned by the size. I didn't know they even made tortillas in that size! It was a breakfast burrito with good quality pork salsa verde, beans, chilies and at least two fried eggs. Corn tortillas inside the flour tortilla. It's certainly two or more meals. My spouse had a pulled pork BBQ sandwich that was overflowing with pork and declared very good. Salad crisp and fresh. Not a fancy place but it is where the locals eat and the service was very friendly. Not hard to find and easy off hwy 5 in "downtown" Goldhill.

Our rollerderby team invaded Patti's Kitchen in full force, with 15 of us. The staff was super attentive and accommodating, that seemed to be a running theme throughout Southern Oregon in general, they had a table ready for us in under 10 minutes! Coffee and water were on the tables before all of us had even sat down. The first thing we noticed was the incredible-looking pie case in the front of the restaurant. Wow! Next time I am in Southern Oregon, there is no doubt I will be back for a taste of Pattis' pie! The menu was surprisingly large and is subsidized by two big boards listing the specials. There were a number of creative and delicious offerings including breakfast enchiladas and pancake sandwiches. After ordering, we were able to take our coffees outside and enjoy the sun at Patti's outdoor tables while we waited for food to arrive. Food quickly arrived and all was delicious, the biscuits were light and fluffy, the country gravy was very flavorful with lots of sausage, the hashbrowns golden and crisp, the buttermilk pancakes were bigger than my head and very tasty. If you want a real breakfast served by real folks, Patti's does breakfast the right way! It's hard to satisfy 14 women at the same time but Patti's staff and food kept us all extremely content during our visit there. I can't recommend them enough or construe to you how accommodating and gracious the staff is. We found a magic breakfast stop that kept our entire team happy and we all plan to come back the next time we are in the area!

It's ok. Huge portions. So so food. And now they have discontinued having Equal and Splenda available to customers. $1.50 for mediocre coffee, and you can't provide the basics? Gimme a break. They still have great bacon and eggs though. Jams are being downgraded too, it appears. Karen's Kitchen tried all this cheapening in Rogue River, and it is now out of business. Hello, Patti? Are you reading any of your reviews. It is time to listen to your regular customers. Before you lose us.

We decided to get out of Grants Pass on Friday of Labor Day weekend as traffic had picked up quite a bit. We didn't leave our motel until noon as my husband and son had been fishing and no one had breakfast so we left hungry. We found Patti's Kitchen by accident when we got off the 5 at Gold Hill to see if we could find anywhere to eat. Wow how lucky did we get! We walked in starving to be seated right away in a restaurant that was almost full. There was a white board with more specials on it than we have ever encountered. This was the right place for us. We all had breakfast. My husband loved his steak and eggs and the pork chops and eggs were great too. My daughter had eggs and ham and my son had polish sausage and eggs. This was a great stop for a late breakfast for lunch. I think we enjoyed reading the specials on the white board as much as we did eating our food. They had nice clean restrooms and we left happy and ready to hit the road for a long drive.
